Photos of stuff I've made...

during my 5-year absence.  I've been knitting and crocheting instead of blogging.  I wish I could set these up to post several smaller pictures to a row, but uploading them in Blogger is far quicker than setting up an html table.  Please forgive me.  I've already lost one post today, so I'm opting for the most expedient and rapid solution.  😎

Note:  Most of these were done without a pattern, except as noted.

Hanging organizer for a walker or table tray

Love the way this yarn pooled for me!  Not done by design, just lucky!  This was knitted.

200 crocheted (with #10 crochet thread) hearts - table decorations for a wedding.

I don't remember whether I used a pattern to make this outfit, but I really liked the appliques!

Socks for a 7-year-old...one was promptly lost in the dryer.  😖

Very patient kitty wearing a little hat.  He gave us all (even the patient under the blanket) lots of laughs.

No pattern - just a few charts for small images on the stocking.  Plenty of room for Christmas treats!

Knitted (#30 crochet thread) doily.  Picture shows it unwashed and not blocked.  Wish I had thought to starch it lightly before I gifted it.  I have no plans to work with thread this thin EVER again!

Crocheted blanket for yet another baby!  Such a little doll-baby!

Okay I'm putting it on, but you can't make me wear it!

Is it football season yet?

Bed-socks as Christmas gifts.  I love these.  The yarn wears down very quickly if you actually walk in them, though.  I keep a separate pair near the head of my bed and only put them on when I have cold feet and want to go to sleep.  💟

Made this set in kind of a rush.  I learned this baby was coming a month or two early due to medical issues, and I had 2 weeks to make everything.  I took pictures of the set laid out flat too, but it's all so much cuter with a baby in there!

Lovely candle-flame pillow I made a few years ago.  I had no pillow pattern, just used a stitch pattern for the lace.  The Caron Simply Soft yarn has held up fairly well, except for a fair amount of fuzzing.  For this kind of project (in the future), I'll probably try Deborah Norville Everyday (no pilling!) or even Red Heart Super Saver.  At the time I had no wool yarn (hides head in shame) and really preferred to work with softer acrylics, which seemed to get fewer complaints of itching from the recipients.  😉 Pay no attention to the small, wide-eyed creature reclining thereon.

A recently modified version of Tooty's Squooshie Blanket.

And last, but not least, the most recent modification of Tooty's Squooshie Blanket.  Narrower "stripes" of brioche with smaller sections of garter stitch (8 rows), separated by much larger sections of garter stitch as well.  Border section is quite a bit wider than on the pattern, too.  I haven't written this one up as a separate pattern, though.  I'm thinking of doing it with some color changes.  Should I write up the alternate version shown in this picture below?  What do you think?

I may run across some other postable photos of stuff I also made during my 5-year hiatus, like the baby chihuahua outfits, the lilac bouclé sweater (size 6, child) with the dark purple Lion Brand loopy yarn around the edges and down the front, the cotton sleeveless pullover I worked on forever (and which, to my knowledge, has never been worn), the 6-foot long Harry Potter scarf, the black brioche 6-foot scarf that was lovely to make but incredibly hard on the eyes, and the many winter accessories and socks I've made and gifted.  I still have a box of miscellaneous hats, scarves, cowls, hand warmers, and mittens remaining to be doled out among the blessed, and another box or two of WIPs that await finishing.

I'll try to remember to write a post about the American Heart Association's preemie/newborn red hat drives.  I've been donating for 3 or 4 years now, and each time I try to exceed my totals from the previous year.  This year I'll need to make at least 52.  Time to stock up on red yarn!
